Biblical Principles for Parental Self-Regulation
I have been married for 32 years and we have 1 adult child. I work for Glade Run Lutheran Services as a School Based and Outpatient Therapist. I earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Geneva College. My favorite part of parenting is enjoying an ever changing relationship with my daughter and seeing her make discoveries and express insights.
My least favorite part has been coming face to face with my own faults, weaknesses, and sinfulness.
Parenting is not a task but a relationship. Healthy relationships are developed through the fruit of the Spirit. Good seeds in good soil will reap an abundant harvest. We cannot be perfect parents and our children will not be perfect either but we can grow stronger together with Our Lord’s counsel, wisdom, grace, and love.

Setting Boundaries and Rebuilding Trust
First, I am a wife and mother of four amazing children. I enjoy the outdoors and traveling pretty much anywhere. I have lived in many places and have seen a lot of this beautifully broken world. My desire for writing is based upon my own experience with years of trauma and the lack of help that I found through my healing journey. I desire to be a voice of hope to those who feel hopeless. I am a certified Mental Health Coach with a specialty in Trauma Informed Care. I have a passion for coming alongside someone in their trauma with compassion and encouragement.

I have been married for 25 yrs and counting. We have 4 kids, 20, 14, 12, and 9. I'm the campus pastor of Harvest Church in New Bethlehem, PA. My favorite part of parenting is remembering the older seasons of life with my family. My least favorite part is every time they don't listen to what I say. We live in a different world than we grew up in. How can we teach our kids to be wise as they learn to face a world pulling them towards death?

Unified Parenting in Marriage
Joey and Kat Vegerano have been married since October 19, 2014, and have eight children—five biological, one adopted, and two through permanent legal custody. Regardless of how they joined the family, they are all simply their children. Their family also includes a daughter-in-law and one grandbaby. Joey serves as Family Life and Youth Pastor at North Main Street Church of God, while Kat serves in children’s and youth ministry leadership. Together, they bring years of experience in parenting, adoption, permanent legal custody, homeschooling, and ministry to children, teens, parents, and families. Through both joyful and difficult seasons, God has taught them to trust His faithfulness and keep praying when they cannot yet see the outcome. Their heart is to encourage parents not to give up in the unfinished places, but to trust that God is still working and writing their children’s stories.
One of their greatest joys in parenting has been learning to recognize God’s faithfulness as He answers prayers and fulfills His promises. The hardest part has been watching their children choose sin instead of trusting God. Yet it is often in those painful, unfinished places that God has strengthened Joey and Kat’s own faith and taught them to trust Him more deeply.

I’ve been a single dad for 6 years. I’m the CEO of Moonlight Federal Credit Union. My favorite part of parenting is seeing how much my children have grown both at home and in the church. Especially my oldest daughter, since she is now one of my helpers in the children’s ministry. My least favorite part of parenting is trying to co-parent on disciplinary issues since my ex wife and I have very different views on discipline. My experiences with divorce and single parenting have put me in a number of situations that help me understand what others go through in this process. Living with parents. Surviving paycheck to paycheck. The challenges of dating and other external relationships separate from children. Compensating as one parent in the household.
